This 17-day, cross-country adventure by begins in Toronto and ends in Vancouver. Being the largest city in Canada, Toronto hosts many spectacular sights. Enjoy a Maid of the Mist cruise with up-close views of Niagara Falls. Travel to Ottawa stopping at Gananoque for an included boat cruise through the many islands of St. Lawrence National Park. Travel East to the French Canadian Provence of Quebec City and then further south to cosmopolitan Montreal where you board your flight to Calgary, Canada's cowboy capital. Enter Alberta and Banff National Park, the scenic heart of the Canadian Rockies. Then follow the Icefield Parkway to Jasper National Park and Lake Louise. Take a snowcoach ride on the Columbia Icefield. Via Sun Peaks, you'll travel to the Pacific Coast, sail across the Strait of Georgia, and through the Gulf Islands to Victoria, visiting Butchart Gardens. Catch the ferry to your final destination, Vancouver, where city sightseeing such as Stanley Park, Gastown, and Chinatown is abundant

TORONTO. NIAGARA FALLS EXCURSION.

See Toronto's major landmarks today, including the CN Tower and SkyDome stadium. Also today, visit thundering Niagara Falls. View the falls from above, then embark the MAID OF THE MIST for a close-up view from the river below the falls.

TORONTO-KINGSTON-OTTAWA.

Leave Ontario's capital and stop in Kingston, a city with an exciting history dating back more than 300 years. Proceed along the St. Lawrence River with splendid vistas of St. Lawrence Islands National Park. At Ivy Lea, board your boat for a CRUISE that takes a scenic route through the many islands of St. Lawrence Islands National Park. Next, head to Ottawa, Canada's beautiful capital.

OTTAWA.

This morning, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of this lovely city, pleasantly situated on the banks of the Ottawa River and the Rideau Canal. See the Canadian Mint, the embassy district, stately parliament Hill, and Rideau Falls. Suggestions for this afternoon include a visit to the magnificent Canadian Museum of Civilisation or the array of restaurants and shops at the lively Byward Market.

OTTAWA-QUEBEC CITY AREA.

Head east into the French-Canadian province of Quebec, where you'll notice a sudden change in language and tradition. Late-afternoon arrival in historic Quebec City, the heart of French Canada and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

QUEBEC CITY AREA.

Start the day with a guided tour of Canada's only walled city, crowned by the great turrets of the Chateau Frontenac. Within the walls is the Place d'Armes, the Laval Seminary, the star-plan Citadelle, and ancient Place Royale. Also see the stone houses crowding the narrow streets of Lower Town by the St. Lawrence River and the historic Plains of Abraham, where General Wolfe stormed the slopes.

QUEBEC CITY AREA-MONTREAL.

Head south and late this morning, cosmopolitan Montreal comes into view. As you enter Montreal, one of Canada's largest cities, you'll see the canted tower of the Olympic Stadium. Major attractions on this afternoon's sightseeing tour include once-walled Old Montreal, Notre Dame Basilica and the Seminary of St. Sulpice, Mount Royal, and modern Montreal. This evening, be sure to try out one of the many sidewalk cafes specialising in French cuisine with a Canadian influence.

MONTREAL-CALGARY.

Transfer to Montreal airport for your flight to Calgary, noted for its famous Stampede and past host of the Winter Olympics. Once known as Canada's "cowboy" capital, Calgary now has developed into an energy centre for oil and gas. Time on your own to explore the "heart of the new west." Perhaps visit the Calgary Zoo or shop the downtown corridor.

CALGARY-BANFF

On this morning's sightseeing tour, see many of Calgary's attractions, including downtown, the Olympic Ski Jump, and the Saddledome. Afterward, head west through the foothills and into BANFF NATIONAL PARK, gateway to the majestic Canadian Rockies. On arrival, join the optional excursion to Sulphur Mountain for a thrilling gondola ride with spectacular views of mountain scenery and then picturesque Bow Falls. Tonight, consider an optional excursion to the theatre, featuring a Canadian show and dinner.

BANFF.

Banff is one of Canada's favourite year-round resorts, with summer activities such as hiking, boating, and fishing. With a free day, your Tour Director will suggest an optional helicopter ride over the Canadian Rockies.

BANFF-LAKE LOUISE-COLUMBIA ICEFIELD-JASPER

A day of scenic grandeur. First to Lake Louise; its cold turquoise waters are a perfect natural mirror reflecting the surrounding mountains and glaciers. Precipitous gorges, snowcapped mountain ranges, and lakes of exquisite blues and greens come into view as the motorcoach scales two mountain passes on the journey north. Another highlight on today's agenda is a stop at the COLUMBIA ICEFIELD to experience the Ice Explorer, an all-terrain vehicle that travels on ice measuring 1,200 feet (365 metres) thick. Enjoy an orientation tour of Jasper townsite upon arrival. This afternoon, join an optional float trip down the historic Athabasca River.

JASPER-MOUNT ROBSON-KAMLOOPS.

Join the optional trip to Maligne Lake this morning with a narrated cruise to Spirit Island. Then, leave Jasper and follow the Fraser River to the base of spectacular Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. The Yellowhead Highway continues south along the mighty Thompson River with spectacular vistas of the Monashee Mountains. Tonight your Tour Director will have recommendations for optional activities and the best places to dine. Overnight in Kamloops.

KAMLOOPS-FERRY CROSSING-VICTORIA.

As you travel through British Columbia's Coast Mountain Range to its majestic Pacific coastline, the vegetation changes from desert landscape to lush alpine forests. Board your afternoon ferry for the spectacular crossing to Vancouver Island. Sightseeing today includes world-famous BUTCHART GARDENS, the marine drive, Bastion Square, and Thunderbird Park with its unusual collection of totem poles.

VICTORIA.

A free day for independent sightseeing. Your Tour Director will suggest several optional excursions, including a whalewatching cruise, as well as offer advice on the best places to dine or shop.

VICTORIA-FERRY CROSSING-VANCOUVER.

Board the ferry to the British Columbia mainland. Upon arrival, it's a short drive to Vancouver, where city sightseeing includes Stanley Park, Gastown, Chinatown, and other landmarks.

VANCOUVER.

Your Tour Director will have suggestions for your day in Vancouver, including shopping and soaking up the flavours of Vancouver's diverse ethnic neighborhoods.

VANCOUVER.

The trip ends today with guests departing on individual schedules. Transfers to Vancouver International Airport are included. You can extend your vacation with extra nights and explore Vancouver further with a variety of exciting optional activities.

Description: The adventure begins with an eight minute journey to the summit of Sulphur Mountain in a modern, fully-enclosed four passenger gondola cabin. The views become increasingly spectacular as you climb 698 metres (2,292 feet) to an elevation of 2,281 metres (7,486 feet) at the Summit Upper Terminal. Stay on the look out for wildlife and birds that frequent the Banff Gondola. This is nature's wild playground, so a camera is a must! You can encounter the local wildlife including Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, Golden mantled ground squirrels, Hoary marmots, Clark's nutcracker and the Canada (Gray) jay. Afterwards, we'll visit thundering Bow Falls where plenty of great photo opportunities await you.
